For your quick reference, here are the answers to some frequently asked questions:

Yes, the school does have an enrolment zone. For full details click here.
I live in the school zone and I would like to enrol my child at Oratia District School. How do I go about it?
Please contact the school office for an enrolment pack. You will need to fill out our enrolment form and provide proof that you live in the zone area.
I would like to apply for an out-of-zone enrolment. How do I go about it?
When spaces are available, the school’s enrolment policy gives preference to children whose siblings are current or past pupils, children of staff, and children whose parents and grandparents have attended the school. These enrolments are at the discretion of the school and availability may vary over time depending on roll numbers. For more information click here.

I suspect my child has special needs or special abilities. What should I do?
Have a conversation with your class teacher first. Explain to them your thoughts and concerns. Follow up this conversation with an email to the teacher, and copy your email to the principal and Katherine Goldsmith, our school’s Dean of Student Support and special needs coordinator (SENCo). Your concerns will be addressed through the classroom teacher or, where appropriate, through the special needs coordinator.
Who do I talk to if I have questions about my child’s learning or some other aspect of school life?
If you have questions about your child’s learning or behaviour, please speak to your child’s teacher first. If your concerns are not addressed or if they are about a wider issue, please email the principal or phone 818 6216 to make an appointment to see her. Failing that, please talk to a member of our Board of Trustees or put your concerns in writing to be considered by the board at their next meeting.
