Our school zone

If you would like to enrol your children at Oratia District School, please keep in mind that we have a school zone in place. 

Children will be considered for enrolment if places are available under the following criteria. These are in no specific order.

1. Siblings of children currently or previously enrolled at Oratia school.
2. Children of families with traditional association. Any child with 1 parent and 1 grandparent who attended Oratia School.
3. Children of staff members.

ZONE BOUNDARY

In zone constitutes all the areas within the following boundaries:-

• Glengarry Road from Autumn Ave. down to West Coast Road (the zone includes all properties with frontage on this section of Glengarry Road from 179 and 176 (upwards in numbers), also side roads Meynell Court and Nicolas Ave.
• West Coast Road between Glengarry Road and Parrs Park Roundabout (478 and 481 being the lowest numbers in zone).
• Up Parrs Cross Road (west side only) to Holdens Road and up Holdens Road (both sides) to Forest Hill Road.
• The boundary then goes up Forest Hill Road from No.148 and No.145 (upwards in numbers) to the Intersection with West Coast Road.
• From Forest Hill Road the boundary follows West Coast Road to the Scenic Drive including all properties with frontage on this section of West Coast Road.
• All properties with frontage on the Scenic Drive between 147 and 158 in the South and 573 and 574 in the North are included in the zone.
• All properties accessed from the Piha Road and side roads are also included within the zone.

 ENROLMENT PROCESS

• All applications must be made to the school Principal who is required to ask for proof of residence within the boundaries from all parents enrolling children except those enrolling under Priority 2.
• Where any parent enrolling a child is unable to produce such documentary evidence eg: rate demand, they may be required to complete the Oratia School Enrolment Statutory Declaration establishing that they are resident in the zone.
