Stream Study

Room 7 have just started a study on streams.  We are going to begin by focusing on Oratia Stream.  Over the next few weeks we have we are lucky enough to have a special visitor coming to talk to us about the stream and the creatures that live in it.  Then on the 2nd of April we are heading down the road to have a look at the stream!!!

Today (11th of March) we created a KWHL chart. 

 K stands for what we KNOW

W stands for what we WANT to know

H stands for HOW are we going to find the information?

L stands for what we have LEARNT 

Then we made our own stream. 

DO YOU KNOW???

 To have a stream with bugs you need:

• Clean water

• Mud/Sand/Little pebbles (for the bottom of the stream)

• Stream banks (made of mud with branches and grass to hold it in place)

• Lots of branches, leaves and rocks to make it a good enviroment for the bugs.
