Room 7, Room 7, How does your garden grow?

This year Room 7 along with all the other Junior Classes (Rooms 1-9) have adopted a garden.  All of the gardens are behind Rooms 1- 4. 

We talked about what sorts of things a garden needs...water, sun, soil, plants etc.

We talked about what makes a garden special ... having a place where we are part of it, making it for us, not for others...what do WE want?

After this discussion we then set about talking about possible options for plants...

The children loved the idea of having strawberries and tomatos, so we are going to save those for the right season. 

Instead we have planted celery, lettuce, mint, parsley, violas, panseys, ice plants, allsyum, lavender and carnations.

We have also made a scarecrow for our garden, we stuffed it with newspaper and material.  We think that he looks AMAZING...

We have also each got a stake with our hand print on it.
